Stamped concrete patterns and colors

Stamped concrete is the decorative concrete option most people picture. The pattern comes from large rubber stamp mats pressed into the wet slab. Wood plank mats give you the grain and knots of a board floor. Flagstone and ashlar slate mats read like cut stone, and brick or cobble suits a walkway.

Color works in two layers. Integral color is mixed into the concrete truck, so the tone runs through the whole slab. A cast-on release color sits on top and darkens the low spots in the texture. Acid stains or dyes can add a third tone once the slab cures.
